An Argentinian rock star by the name of “Francis” solidified a win for the Jolly Jokers Wednesday night in what was the first Trivia Ninjas Team Trivia competition at Zaffiro’s Pizzeria and Bar in Waite Park.

The Jokers bagged a trivia hog and snarfed-up 500 points with a little divine help.

The question:

He was born Jorge Bergoglio. But like Cher, Madonna, Beyonce, Adele and Rihanna, he now goes by only one name. What is that single name?

The answer, of course: Francis. As in Pope Francis I. ( See what we did there?)

The final scores from last night:

1. Jolly Jokers — 5,292
2. Paddle Faster, I Think I Hear Banjos! — 4,667 (This is the Team That Changes Its Name Every Week)
3. The Browncoats — 4,625
4. Steel Curtain — 4,250
5. I Don’t Always Have Arguments in my Head, But When I Do, I Win! — 4,167 (Formerly the Family Guy Reference Team)

There was a scoring adjustment in favor of Paddle Faster after we announced the winners, so they picked up a few extra points to push them past The Browncoats. Sorry, Browncoats — but a great effort in a close contest!

If you want to get in on the fun, join us at 6:30 each Wednesday night at Zaffiro’s Pizzeria and Bar at the Marcus Theatres Parkwood 17 complex in Waite Park.
