He was the first voice you heard on the original Art Fleming version of “Jeopardy!“, he went on to set the standard for gutsy tongue-in-cheek announcing on “The Price Is Right, but he’s much more known for his super-inflections during the opening credits and performer intros over all 39 seasons of Saturday Night Live. Don Pardo died yesterday (081814) in Tuscon, AZ.

We assume Don Pardo will now be sharing old radio and TV stories with Casey Kasem. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for celebrity deaths, starting with James Garner on July 19, 2014. Between then and now, we’ve lost Lauren Bacall, skateboarding legend Jay Adams, Ed Nelson of the classic drama Peyton Place, Star Trek‘s Arlene Martel (who played Spock’s wife), and of course, Robin Williams.
