This year has been an astronomer’s buffet of events; a closer than the moon asteroid (2014 RC Pitbull), A total Lunar Eclipse later this year and tonight brings us the third Supermoon. In the Upper Midwest we refer to it as the Harvest Moon, this third supermoon promises to be quite spectacular in color.

The amateur astronomy website SLOOH will offer live moonrise views from multiple locations in North America with special zoomed in, close-up views of the lunar surface from Slooh’s member controlled facilities located at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa.
