Homer as Olaf? Of course. Ahh, the holiday and Christmas season always brings out the worst best in everyone’s favorite nuclear family.

This week’s couch gag on The Simpsons is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to Disney’s Frozen. It’s just the beginning to the Yuletide fun as FOX premieres The Simpsons’ Annual Christmas episode this Sunday. Titled “I Won’t Be Home For Christmas”, this week’s instalment promises lots of jabs at the Disney insta-classic. You’d have to be living in an ice-cave on Hoth if you haven’t been awed by the fact that Frozen has overtaken the toy aisles, YouTube and more than likely; your backseat, with sing-alongs and impromptu quote-a-thons.

Why there’s even Frozen inspired bras (Yes. You read that right).

The final moments of the couch gag pit Bart versus Lisa and offers up our favorite lovable oaf as Olaf. But the biggest laugh of the opener has to be of Otto toking up on the candy cane. And yes Bart, reindeer does taste like chicken.

Over the course of 25 seasons, they’ve run 13 Christmas Specials, including it’s debut episode; Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire that aired on December 18th, 1989. It was also the very first of the series’ video released to the public in 1991.

Now in the 26th season, Fox has broadcast 560 episodes and released a feature-length film that grossed over $520 million. It has been renewed to a 27th season. The Simpsons is now the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and in 2009 it surpassed Gunsmoke as the longest-running American scripted prime-time television series.
