It’s often said, “Every point counts.”

Whoever said that no doubt was at tonight’s Trivia Ninjas Trivia Night at Zaffiro’s Pizzeria and Bar at the Parkwood 17 Marcus Theatres complex in Waite Park.

Just 21 points separated the top four teams. 21. That’s less than half the value of a question that everyone gets right. And it’s the tightest finish your Trivia Ninjas have seen yet.

And when all was said and done, “The Browncoats” took top honors this week — winning by just 8 points.

There were stories of gallantry (another word, by the way, that begins with “GAL”). For example,”We Won a Lifetime Achievement Award…Twice!” scored the night’s only trivia hog by being the only team to correctly identify a screenshot of the arcade game “Pengo.” But “Achievement” missed the win by misidentifying “Missile Command” as “Defender.” Sigh.

As for “The Browncoats,” they’re just thankful teammate Frank came up with “Gallifrey” as the home planet of “Dr. Who.” That was good for 250 points for both “The Browncoats” and “Bubba Ho-Tep!”
