37 years ago, self-proclaimed “Outlaw” Waylon Jennings, done gone and got himself busted for cocaine possession in New York City. The former ‘Cricket‘, 40 years old at the time, was in an NYC recording studio when the Feds barged in and busted him for possession and intent to sell. The charges were ultimately dropped and many called it just a publicity stunt to sell more copies of his forthcoming album. According to reports in the newspapers of the time;
“Jennings eyed the federal photographer, grinned and said, ‘Make it a good one, man. It might be my next album cover’.”
